" I love Melinda Leigh's style of writing and am now slowly working through everything she has written. Her characterizations are excellent with the simmering sexuality always a fresh aspect. I enjoy the fact that she is weaving the story around the characters introduced in her first book in the series, so that the reader feels that one is getting to know the whole community of characters. The plots are fast and pacey and full of spice. I really resent having to return to normal life having been emersed in the goings on of Scarlet Falls....."

'Scarlet Falls' 시리즈의 두 번째 작품이다. 진도가 상당히 잘 나가는 재밌는 작품이다. 로맨스적 요소가 가미된 미스터리 스릴러장르에 속하는 작품이다. 작품의 처음부터 끝까지 유지되는 긴장감, 인물들 간의 흥미로운 관계 및 갈등구조, 시리즈의 일관된 분위기와 친숙한 인물들의 등장, 범인들과의 추적이나 싸움 같은 적절한 액션씬들이 작품을 더욱 재밌게 만드는 거 같다. 반전적 요소는 전작인 'Hour of Need'보다는 못한 거 같지만 액션은 더 화려해진 거 같다. 문장이나 표현등도 난해하지 않기 때문에 읽을 만하다. runaway, heroine, street girls, chase, drunken, hairs, dogs, festival, pimp, betrayal, clients, escape, lawyers, reunion, unexpected death, addiction, mysterious mails, family travel, bomb, obsession, abuse, settle down, kidnapping 등이 작품을 이해하는데 중요한 단어들인 거 같다.
