전형적인 헐리우드식 구성에 충실한 스파이 액션 장르의 작품이다. 영화나 드라마로 만들 것을 미리 생각하고 만든 작품인거 같다. 책은 전반에 방향을 잘 잡지 못하면 원서를 읽는 경험이 적은 독자들은 흥미를 잃을 수도 있다. 전반적인 수준은 대중소설이기 때문에 크게 난해하지는 않는거 같다. 이 책도 나름 유명한 시리즈물이다.
