- Lasting happiness cannot be found in pursuit of any goal or achievement. It does not reside in fortune or fame.

- Every day is a new opportunity to begin again. Every day is your birthday.

- Joy is in fact our birthright and even more fundamental than happiness ....

- ... these two men remind us that how we choose to act each day is what matters ...

- Suffering is inevitable, they said, but how we respond to that suffering is our choice ...

- One great question underlies our existence ..... what is the purpose of live ? .... It does no matter whether one is a Buddhist like me, or a Christian like the .... or any other religion, or no religion at all ...

- ... courage ; I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over ....

- .. perspective has a surprising amount of influence over the body's stress response ....

- I had once asked the Archbishop how he handled worry and insomnia ... Thinking about others and remembering that he was not alone lessened his distress and his worries, as he would say ...

- Underlying this anger, the Dalai Lama was saying, is a fear that we will not get what we need, that we are not loved, that we are not respected, that we will not be included .... One way out of anger is to ask what is the hurt that has caused our anger, what is the fear that we have ...? anger is no use in solving problems. It will not help. It creates more problems.

- With the great sadness of the loss, one can live an even more meaningful life ....

- 'Hope' is quite different from optimism .....more superficial ....... Hope is something much deeper.

- We are born and die totally dependent on others, and that the independence that we think we experience in between is a myth.

- We can feel joy when we are alone but not when we are lonely ....

- the first person pronouns - I ME MINE - have a significantly greater risk of having a heart attack.

- The Dalai Lama was saying that when one is thinking about others with kindness and compassion, one is never lonely.

- often envy comes because we are too focused on material possessions and not on our true inner values ...

- 'Many people think of suffering as a problem,' The Dalai Lama said, 'Actually, it is an opportunity destiny has given to you.

........ our book is part of this important process to help spread the message that love, kindness, and affection are the source of joy and happiness ... 마지막으로 "The Dalai Lama finally said....... I prefer to go to hell than to heaven. I can solve more problems in hell. I can help more people there"라는 문장이 인상 깊다.
