At the moment Casey is working as a dessert chef at a restaurant called The Blue Door and does her baking in the restaurant's kitchen at night, and also supplies the homemade muffins for the coffee shops in the small town in California where the story takes place..."

이 작품은 장편이지만 문장이 비교적 쉽기 때문에 읽기가 편하다. 다만 내용이 살인 사건을 제외하면 '뜨개질' 에 관한 이야기가 대부분을 차지하기 때문에 '뜨개질'에 대하여 관심이 없는 독자들은 좀 지루 할 수도 있을 것이다. cozy mystery의 성격을 충실히 따르는 작품이어서 코지 장르의 분위기를 충분히 즐길 수 있다. 책의 내용이나 등장인물들이 비교적 가정적이고 따뜻한 분위기를 준다.  이 책의 중요한 전환점은 다음의 문장이 아닌가 싶다.  "..... I flashed on the pictures in Dr. Sammy's magazine - how they looked alike at first, but then there were subtle differences..."
