"I really enjoy this series and while not as exciting as the previous book, I enjoyed this one a lot. My only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 was that the identity of the murderer was almost an after thought given in a phone call. No real pay off in the reveal. But, I enjoyed watching the development of Nell and James relationship and the historical details were very interesting. This is a great series but it is one that cries out for the reader to start with book one as half the fun of this series is watching the development of Nell...." 이전의 작품에 비해서 진도가 잘 나가는 작품이다. 처음부터 끝까지 '역사'라는 소재에 충실한 이야기다. 전작들도 그렇지만 이 책은 특히 FBI이나 경찰들의 존재감이 덜어지는 거 같다. 여주인공과 그의 팀들이 사건을 거의 해결하는 구조다. 건설업자의 등장, 아마추어 역사광의 죽음, 1770년대에 죽은 것으로 추정되는 시체들의 발견... 나름 재밌게 글을 적었다. 이 책을 시리즈 처음부터 읽은 독자들은 남녀 주인공의 사랑의 결실(?)에 대해서 관심이 있겠지만... 문장도 구성도 쉽다.
