THE TUNNEL: A Ben Hope Story by Scott Mariani

"If you`ve never read anything by Scott Mariani before this is a great introduction to one of his best known characters. The Ben Hope series gets better with each new book & the relationships between the main character scontinue to be developed emotionally and physically. It's not easy to become attached to Ben Hope as he`s a bit of a loner & has been hurt in relationships in the past however as an undercover assassin he's top of the class & emotions rarely seem of much consequence. As far as the plot in The Tunnel is concerned as a short story it's fast paced & gives an insight into the kind of life Ben Hope leads. Who knows what really happened that night in the tunnel, think I share my opinion with Ben ...."

코지 미스터리와는 다른 액션물이다. 동적이고 긴장감이 넘치는 짧은 단편의 소설이다. 전에도 Ben Hope라는 인물이 등장하는 소설을 읽었는데 재밌었다. 이 작품은 그의 시리즈 중에서 초반에 해당하는 작품이다. The Increment라는 전직 특수부대 출신이 중심이 되는 암살집단과 관련이 있는 내용이다. 전투씬에 대한 묘사는 물론 작품 전체가 영화 같은 구성의 작품이다. 재밌다. 문장은 Sidney Sheldon 보다는 좀 어려울 수 있지만 읽을 만하다.
