I love how Denise makes very page come alive and makes you feel like you're right there in henrietta with them all and how gutted are you when the book has ended ..."

300페이지를 넘는 작품이고 작은 마을의 사건을 다루고 있는 내용이지만 재밌게 읽을 수 있었다. 지금까지 읽은 작가의  시리즈 중에서 가장 잘 쓴 작품이 아닐까 하는 생각을 해 본다. 여주인공이 우는 장면들이 자주 나온다는 점을 제외하면 이야기의 전개가 전체적으로 긴장감이 있고 계속 읽게 만드는 매력이 있다. 특히 문장 구조나 표현 등이 무난하기 때문에 다니엘 스틸이나 시드니 셀던 같은 작가들의 작품을 읽은 독자라면 큰 부담 없이 읽을 수 있다. 여주인공의 이별, 언니의 배신, 불륜, 목사, 의문의 살인사건, 새로운 사업, 또 다른 사건의 암시, 막장드라마에 나올 거 같은 가족들, 용서 못할 과거, 새로운 만남, 집착과 광기 등 재밌는 요소들을 다 보여주는 작품이다.
