'편혜영'이라는 한국인 작가의 '홀'이라는 작품을 영어로 번역한 작품이다. 이 작품에 대해서 구글을 검색하면 '스릴러' '만화' 서스펜스' '심리소설' '범죄물' 장르라고 한다. 읽어보면 알지만 이런 요란한 설명이 맞는지....  '심리소설'이라는 말은 맞는 거 같다. 하지만 끝까지 읽어야 하는 의무를 가지지 않는 독자들은 지루한 작품인건은 확실하다. 개인적으로 150페이지(내가 읽은 책을 기준)부터 읽는 보람이 있었다. 한국의 독자들에 비해서 외국의 독자들은 아마 계속 읽기가 힘들 수도 있을 거 같다는 생각을 하면서 읽었다. 작품에서 주는 정보( 보험, 가족법, 교통법 등....)가 너무 작아서(픽션이니...) 아니면 나 자신의 지식이 너무 부족해서.... 아무튼 막판에 페이지를 아끼면서 읽었다. 문장이나 표현은 무난하다. 주인공의 직업이 매력적인 거 같다.
