It highlights the complete absence or extremely low percentage of one gender as you go higher in management and its effect in policy making that often ended up favouring one gender over another, and the detrimental effect on the entire working population. It also talks about menstruation, maternity leave, unequal pay and unequal division of unpaid labour, spy cams and pornography, child care, and the insensitivity of the general public towards these matters. It will definitely make it to my favourite books of all time....."

다큐멘터리 같은 작품인 거 같다. 현대 여성들의 삶을 이 작품이 다 표현하는 것은 아니지만 부분적이라도 엿볼 수 있는 기회를 제공하는 거 같다. 번역이 잘 되어있고 책의 길이가 한국어판에 비해서 비교적 짧기 때문에 빨리 읽을 수 있었고 특히 내용이 흔하게 듣고 목격할 수 있는 부분들이 많았기 때문에 내용 파악에도 큰 무리는 없는 거 같다. 책에서 다루어지고 있는 내용이 한국만의 것은 아닌 거 같다. 이 책을 읽으면서 돌아가신 나의 어머니가 자꾸 생각났다.
