Fortune Hunter by Jana DeLeon
"It had been five days or so since the last murders and Fortune was beginning to get antsy, really antsy. Then Celia stirred the pot, creating instant hate and mass mistrust in the newly “elected” mayor (who was being investigated for electoral irregularities) stepped right into the center of a “cat-fishing” scheme in which several of Sinful’s elderly widows have been cat-fished on on-line by a pretend Iraq soldier who needs cash to come to Sinful to personally meet his new true love. Except: as soon as funds are transferred he disappears online just as suddenly as he appeared. The girls are upset that their friends are being so cruelly taken advantage of that they decide to investigate. No sooner had they begin than one victim ends up murdered which leads the girls to suspect a local male in Sinful is behind it all. But who? And how to dig deep enough without scaring the perp away. Join in and relax, or not, as the investigation begins and, of course, Carter (Fortune’s romantic interest) is the official investigator so look out! Hang on for another exciting and gripping ride....."
이번 작품에도 hand to hand, line of bull, toss my hat, people person, piss and vinegar, snow job 등 관용표현이나 속어가 등장한다.
