The Escape (John Puller Series) by David Baldacci

"大昔TVで「(花菱)アチャコの武芸帖」というのがあり主題歌の一節に「そーんなエエことあるやろか？」「あるからオモロイぶげいちょお」というのがありましたがの趣旨で面白く読めました。L.ChildのJack Reacherとは違って、謎の相棒(?)の女性とすぐ仲良くなったりせず、相手との信頼関係について禅問答を繰り返すような堅物だったり、脱走(?)した兄のBobbyが都合良く弟のJohnを絶体絶命の窮地から救ったり、黒幕の高級情報職のおばちゃんが意外に迂闊だったり、アチャコみたいなところが散見されますが、Puller家の父親とBobby/Johnの親子と、黒幕とその息子との親子関係なども織り込み、劇画としてはなかなか面白い読み物で、ページがススム君でした...." John Puller 시리즈다. 장편이고 액션장르, 미스터리장르, 가족장르등으로 분류할수 있는 작품이다. 만화 같은 요소도 있지만 이전 작품들처럼 재밌는 작품이다. 반역죄로 형무소에 수감된 형의 미스터리한 탈출과 신원을 확인할 수 없는 시체의 발견으로 시작하는 작품이다. 누가 동지인지 적인지 알 수 없는 인물들의 등장과 미스터리한 인물들과의 속고 속이는 긴장관계등은 작품의 재미를 더한다. 다양한 미국 정보기관들의 등장과 다양한 역학적 관계 때문에 읽는데 당황스러운 면도 있고, 군대와 관련된 이야기들이 많이 나오기 때문에 초반에 다양한 줄임말( NSA, START, DIA, CIA, WMD, STARTCOM, DTRA.....)들에 적응하는데 시간이 필요하다. 문장들이나 표현들이 전작보다는 읽는데 더 무난한 거 같다.
