코지 미스터리 장르다. 책커버에서도 보이지만 이 작품은 'Richard Osman'의 'The Thursday Murder Club'과 비슷한 분위기를 보이는 작품이다. 주인공들이 'seniors'라는 점이나 살인이라는 심각한 범죄를 다루지만 유별난(?) 어르신들의 놀라운 활약이나 유머러스한 이야기 전개라는 점에서 비슷한 분위기를 보여준다. '읽기 쉽고 이해하기에 쉬운 작품'이라는 평이 많다. 문장구조나 표현들이 난해하자지 않아서 진도가 잘 나가는 편이지만 독자의 원서 경험에 따라서 다르게 느낄 수도 있기 때문에 미리 보기를 추천한다. 'seniors'의 삶에 대한 묘사나 이야기들에 대한 언급이 많기 때문에 독자의 관심(?)의 영역에 따라서 중반까지는 지루하게 느낄 수 있다. Agnes Sharp 시리즈의 두 번째 작품이다.
