"イヴァノヴィッチのステファニー･プラム･シリーズのような内容を期待していると、期待はずれに終わってしまいますが、まったく別の軽いロマンチク・コメディと割り切って読むとなかなか楽しめます。爆発炎上やスリル感はステファニー・シリーズほど派手ではありませんが、やはりスピード感はさすがです。　ミステリーというよりはロマンスのほうに重点がおかれているようで、犯人探しよりはヒロインの恋の行方が気になります。といっても、従来のロマンス小説とは違い、"恋よりまず仕事"というヒロインですから、どろどろしていなくて読後感はさわやかです。　私の場合、ストーリーそのものよりも、小道具とユーモアで楽しめました。マリリン・モンローの声でしゃべるコンピューター・カーに想像すらできないほどの大金持ちのハンサムでセクシーなマックス。「ちょっとやりすぎでしょう！」と、ひとり突っ込みながら、笑い飛ばし読みするのもなかなか..
