막장 이야기에 미스터리적 요소가 가미된 작품이다. 주요 등장인물들의 관점에서 이야기가 전개되기 때문에 장편이 될 수밖에 없는 구조이다. cheating, stealing, summer holiday, friendship, jealousy, scandal, gossip, tennis, storm, betrayal, gay, suicide, killing, divorce, sickness, home town, trauma 등이 중요한 의미를 가지는 단어들이다. 영어 문장의 구조는 쉬운 건 아니지만 난해하지도 않다. 어휘나 표현 등은 인터넷의 도움을 받아야 하는 부분들이 있어서 읽을 때 부담을 느끼는 독자도 있지만 의외로 진도는 잘나가는 작품이다.
