Murder in Morningside Heights (A Gaslight Mystery) by Victoria Thompson

" came to this book a bit later than the rest of the world. That said, it is an excellent read and has considerable plots twists that lead one to jump to conclusions as they try to guess the outcome of Malloy`s latest paying case. The Malloy family is settling down a bit but I don`t believe it will ever reach that point of turn of the century upper class American families due to the nature of Frank and Sarah to seemingly attract difficult private cases which the Police wouldn`t consider worth their time. The list of suspects is interesting as it covers a wide range of people. The additional information about a women`s college at the beginning of the 20th Century is also woven into the story line quite nicely and gives the reader more insight into American society that was continuing to evolve. The solution of the case is such that I didn`t see that the character " who done it" was actually the person I thought it would be. I highly recommend ". . . Morningside Heights" to both those who have found the intriguing mysteries that Victoria Thompson writes and also the story of an American city leaving the 19th Century and entering the 20th....."
