전작보다는 읽기가 편한 작품이었다. 하지만 여전히 이 작품은 읽기가 도전이다. 저자의 글 쓰는 스타일이나 시대적 배경과 등장인물들의 말 하는 방식들이 익숙하지 않다. 전작들에서처럼 따뜻한(?) 여주인공의 타인들에 대한 배려와 사건을 해결하는 지적인 능력에 대해서 감탄하지만 주변적인 이야기 때문에 작품이 늘어진다는 느낌은 아쉽다. 관용적 표현들도 좀 등장하기 때문에 인터넷의 도움을 받아야 한다. 다만 반복적으로 등장하는 표현들도 많기 때문에 읽는 데 도움이 된다.
