"実は他のアレックス・クロス・シリーズは全くまだ読んでいなくて、他のと較べて良いのか悪いのかは言えないのですが、他作品のレビューを読むと、多分これはいまいち？前半は一挙に読んでしまう面白さなのですが、大統領暗殺が絡んできてからはちょっとトーンダウン、といったかんじです。いろいろと詰めこみすぎて、中心的キャラクターであるJack & Jillがぼやけてしまっている印象もあります。このふたりは、もっと魅力的に描かれてもよい、と思うのですが。英語の難易度はさほどではなく、各章が短く、その度に場面も変わるので、読みやすいです。シリーズの前作品を読んでいれば、もう少し感情移入できて、もっと楽しめると思います。でも、少なくとも私のイメージでは、アレックス・クロスはモーガン・フリーマンではないな、と思うのですが、いかがなものでしょう...." 13살의 사이코부터 다양한 연령층의 남녀 사이코들이 등장하는 작품이다. 이야기 구성에 불만을 가질 수 있지만 엔터테인먼트 소설로서 재미는 확실히 있다. Alex Cross 시리즈 세 번째 작품이고 이전 작품들처럼 문장이 난해하지 않고 등장하는 표현들도 반복적이고 읽을 만한 작품이다. 암살, 함정, 정신분열, 가정환경, 배신, 유령, 이데올로기, 자본주의, 시, 복수, 감옥, 음모론, 추적, 동영상, 변장, 용기 등이 중요한 의미를 갖는 단어들인 거 같다.
