작가는 나이지리아 출신의 여성이다. 그러나 그녀가 책속에 묘사하고 있는 장면들은 나이지리아에서만 발생하는 일들이 아님을 알 수 있다. 보편적인 문제점들을 작가는 지적하고 있다. 페미니즘에 관한 글이지만 부담없이 재밌게 읽을 수 있는 책이다. 읽어서 절대 후회할 책은 아니다.
