"I simply cannot pass by a Ben Hope book and pre-ordered this one as soon as I could. When it finally downloaded to my Kindle I started reading it at once and was not disappointed. I like the way the author has developed the central character of Ben over the course of the series - he can be very violent when that is needed but can also think and feel. He also can never quite escape who he is and past choices have given him a path that he is unable to veer too far away from and it is this path that gives me the books that I as a reader look forward to. For me this book offers a series of elements that I like - the European Alps, a fast paced plot with a solid element of well motivated violence by the central character, a level of action that retains something of the believable and a threat or threats to the current order of things...."

1348년 프랑스 어느 마을 사람들과 교회의 배신으로 화형에 처해진 순교자와 그의 저주, 2011년 북한의 어느 비밀 시설에 침입한 사설 특수 부대의 실패한 임무.... 이 두 사건이 어떻게 연결될지에 대한 기대감이 사실 상당히 컸다. 하지만 좀 실망스러웠다. 중반 이후부터 종반에 이르기까지 지루한 편이고 불필요한 내용의 전개는 흥미를 잃게 만든다. 핵심어들은 plague, gold bar, monastery, prepared, chasing, broken heart, under cover, interpol, chemical weapon 등인 거 같다. 문장이나 표현 등은 비교적 무난한 거 같다.
