여주인공의 휴가 준비, 장난감 가게에 대한 의문의 공격, 자선행사 시작 전 시체의 발견 등이 중심 이야기이다. 좀 지루한 면이 있고 내용의 전개도 새롭지는 않다. 무능하고 기회주의적인 남편, 탐욕스럽고 이기적인 부인, 어설픈 도피의 사랑을 꿈꾸는 여자 등 다른 작가의 작품들에서도 흔히 등장하는 이야기 구조다. 문장의 구성이나 표현 등은 이전 작품들과 다른 거 없이 무난하다.
