Lust, Loathing and a Little Lip Gloss by Kyra Davis

To top that off the owner of the house is crazy and is making Sophie hold seances as part of her contract to buy the house. In the mean time she's beginning to wonder if he is right about the ghosts in her new home, as strange footsteps and other phenomenon seem to be running amuck in her new dream home. Sophie's current sexy boyfriend Anatoly thinks it's all in her head, so now it's up the her to figure it out. Through a series of unfortunate events ( murder, lies etc..) Sophie and her wonderfully quirky friends start out in their own investigation and are determined to find out who or what is responsible for the strange things going on Sophie's house. This book is a great read, you'll find yourself staying up late in bed just to read "one more chapter"....."

재밌는 미스터리 작품이지만 성인을 대상으로 하는 작품인 거 같다. 다양한 '성'이나 '취향'에 대한 이야기가 나온다. 이야기의 구조는 비교적 심플하지만 등장인물들의 독특한 '성향'등이 작품을 복잡하게 만드는 경향이 있다. 문장은 난해하지 않지만 시리즈의  이전 작품들처럼 속어 같은 단어나 '유머러스'한 표현등이 등장하기 때문에 사전이나 인터넷의 도움을 받아야 하는 경우가 있다. halluciation, divorce, real-estate agent, sleuth, tirade, soapsuds, Victorian ambiance, reaper, brooch, cameo, necrophobia, sheen, ghost, circles, deal breaker, escrow, specter soeicty, seance, squawk, feng shui, no-show, preternatural, Life is like a box of chocolate, and I'm allergic, fidelity, bona fide, parrot, haunted, decoy, locked from the inside,  Say goodbye, thump, fragrance, scythe, obnoxious, prenup, carbs, paranormal fantasies, ventriloquist, nemeses, innuendo, raped, gay, would-be gay, photo, painting, regurgitate, stalking, vows, medium, chain lock, leverage, sex change, bugged, break-in, psychopath, placebo, gaslighting, lip gloss, fixation, dream, supernatural, free, cat, family history 등이 중요한 의미를 갖는 단어들인 거 같다.
