길고 긴 여행을 마친 기분이다. 벽돌 같은 두께의 페이지, 장황하고 현학적인 묘사들은 여전하다. 좀 더 짧으면 더 쉽게 읽을 수 있을 텐데....라는 생각을 하면서 읽었다. 물론 작가의 스타일이고 작가가 그리고 있는 인물의 성격상 짧아질 것은 기대하기 힘들 거 같다. 그나마 다행인 점은 문장이나 표현이 읽기에 편했다는 것이다. 위장, 배신, 테러, 고속도로, 이중배신, 순직, 인생허망, 유괴, 성경책, 핵폐기물, 미사일창고, 총격전, 패스트푸드, 오염, 검문, 돈거래, 전쟁 등 다양한 내용이 등장하는 복잡하면서도 인팩트 있는 내용이다.
