이 작가의 작품들을 좋아한다. 'Book Thief' 정도의 감동은 아니더라도 작품들이 주는 분위기나 이야기의 내용들이 좋다. 지금까지 읽은 책들은 2차 대전이 배경이고 12-15살 정도의 여자애가 주인공인 작품들이다. 하지만 성인들이 읽어도 좋은 이야기들을 다루고 있기 때문에 독자층이 넓은 거 같다. 물론 비슷한 이야기를 다루는 성인 대상 작품들에 비해서 이야기의 극적인 전개, 인물들의 심층적 묘사나 극적상황들에 대한 묘사가 약한 면이 있지만 역사 픽션장르가 가지는 재미를 잘 보여주고 있다. 특히, 문장이나 표현이 난해하지 않아서 읽기에 쉬운 편이다.
