이 작품은 한국 작가인 박서련의 '마법소녀 은퇴합니다'를 영어로 번역한 작품이다. 일본 애니를 잘 알지 못하기 때문에 단정적으로 말하기 어렵지만 이 작품은 일본 애니 하고는 좀 다른 거 같다. 물론 삽화를 제외하고는 이 작품을 애니나 만화라고는 말할 수 없는 작품이다. 작품의 분위기가 애니 같다는 것이다. 소액(?)의 카드 빚 때문에 자살을 준비하던 여성이 소위 'Magical Girl'의 한 부류라는 것을 듣고 공식적인 인정을 받기 위한 도전을 하지만 실패하고 만다. 그녀의 자리를 대신하는 '시간'의 Magical Girl 과의 대립, 생각하지도 못했던 사랑(?)의 고백, 기후변화와 위기를 둘러싼 환타지적인 이야기가 중심적인 내용이다. 다만 '카드' 빚을 갚아야 하는 주인공의 운명(?)은 변함이 없다. 영어 문장이나 표현들은 무난하고 페이지도 중편에 가깝다.
