지금까지 읽은 Louise Penny의 두번째 작품이다. 코지 미스터리장르라고 말할 수 있고 캐나다의 전원적인 배경을 보여주는 전원적(?) 미스터리라고 볼 수도 있는 묘사되는 배경이 좋은 작품이다. 아름다운 풍경화를 보는 듯한 느낌의 작품이지만 사건의 전개나 추리적 요소도 수준이 있는 작품이다. 이 작가의 다른 작품들에 비해서 문장이나 표현이 상당히 쉽다. 그리고 100페이지를 초과하지 않는 단편이기 때문에 부담없이 읽을 수 있는 작품이다.
