Louise Penny의 작품을 읽고 영화나 드라마를 검색하다가 발견한 작품이다. 전에 읽었던 'The hangman'같은 작품을 영상으로 만나는 것은 즐거운 경험이다. 그 외에 The Cruelest Month' 'The Murder Stone' 등의 작품들도 영상화된 거 같은데 책으로는 아직 읽지 못했다. 이 드라마는 원작을 최대한 살리고는 있는 거 같지만 전체적으로 구성이나 이야기가 바뀌거나 첨가되는 형태로 연출되고 있는데 이런 연출이 장점도 있지만 단점도 꽤 있는거 같다. 개인적으로는 작품그 자체에 충실한 이야기를 기대했는데 가끔씩 산만해지는 느낌이다. 그리고 마지막 장면은 Season 2를 목표로 한거 같은데 아쉽게도 Season 2는 취소되었다고 한다. 캐나다의 아름다운 작은 도시를 본다는 것 자체가 힐링의 느낌이다. 어느곳이나 누구나 다 사연이 있는거 같다.
