운동경기 중 사고로 엄청난 기억력을 갖게 된 Amos Decker 형사 시리즈 7번째 작품이다. 역시 재밌는 시리즈이다. 다만 벽돌굵기의 장편이라 읽는데 부담을 갖는 독자도 있는 거 같다. 어려운 표현들이 있지만 문장들을 이해하는데 큰 어려움이 없고 문장의 구성은 평이한 편이다. 특히 편집이 읽기 쉽게 된 거 같다. 연쇄살인, 새로운 파트너, 불륜, 스파이, 연쇄 살인, 함정, 화폐, 은폐, 이혼, 협박, 사기, 정치, 고백, 보안, 알리바이, red herring 등이 중요한 의미를 갖는 단어들이다.
