Cross Kill: An Alex Cross Story (Alex Cross BookShots, 1) by James Patterson

" I love the Alex Cross series so I will read anything Alex Cross. This was a great story as usual...I know the concept of Bookshots is to provide a short, fast story without the excess fluff, but I didn't feel that I was missing anything as this series is usually fast paced anyway and once I start I can't put it down. I only gave 4 stars as the end of the piece leaves the story hanging, it's like it's to be continued in some future book or installment. So I'm hoping that an ending will be provided either in the book that's due out in November or a future Bookshot. I was expecting this to have a beginning, middle and end...I wasn't expecting it to leave me in mid air. After reading the last page, the last few pages were dedicated to promoting another series "The Women's Murder Club" with an excerpt from that piece. I am now looking forward to hopefully another Bookshot with a continuation of the story. I really prefer to read an entire book and can't wait for the Alex Cross book due out in November....."

'The People Vs. Alex Cross'라는 작품을 읽기 전에 꼭 읽어야 하는 단편소설이다. 이야기 구성 자체는 재밌지만 부분적으로 실망스러운 부분이 좀 있는 거 같고 다음 작품에 대한 소개를 하는 정도의 수준인 거 같아서 좀 아쉬운 부분이 있다. Alex Cross라는 형사가 중심인물이고 과거의 사건과 현재의 사건이 섞여서 전개되는 흥미로운 작품이다. 문장구조나 편집은 읽는데 큰 문제는 없지만 어휘나 표현들은 독자의 원서 경험에 따라서 사전의 도움을 받아야 하는 부분들이 있는 거 같다.
