"Like the author's Orchard Mysteries, this is a good read, but the discrepancies become bothersome, For example in one book an elderly lady and her young relative are hard up and find that they have a painting worth millions of dollars. In a later book there is no mention of the painting and they are still in difficult financial straits, Still it's an interesting book in terms of learning about life in Ireland, and the characters are more believable and appealing than the Orchard Mysteries characters. It's a little annoying that both the female leads in the two series are ignoramuses about even the simplest aspects of the financial running of their businesses. How hard is it to add and subtract, and how can Maura let months go by without finding out what taxes and licenses are due on her business...."

"Cold Case" "Snowstorm" 이 중요한 단어들이다. 20년 전에 살인의 누명을 쓴 한 여인이 폭설 때문에 여주인공이 운영하는 술집을 방문한다. 우연스럽게도 그 당시 수사에 참여했던 경찰, 반전의 존재이지만 중요한 실마리를 가진 인물도 여주인공의 술집에서 하루 밤을 보낸다. 진실보다는 자극적인 기사만을 쏟아냈던 언론들, 그것에 휘둘리는 무능한 경찰들의 합작품이 하루 밤사이에 진실을 드러낸다. 이 작가의 다른 작품들에 비해서 초반부터 끝까지 긴장감을 유지하는 작품이다. 다만, 몇몇 인물들의 행동이나 사고방식들은 좀 이해하기가 힘든 부분이 있다. 문장이나 구성은 읽기에 쉽다.
