Many a Twist by Sheila Connolly

"This is a wonderful small town Irish mystery with delightful characters and a well crafted story that hooked me immediately and kept me entertained and intrigued from beginning to end. Even though this is the sixth book in the County Cork Mystery series, it is the first one that I have read and I had no problem reading it as a standalone but I liked it so much, I want to read all of the books in the series. I really liked Maura Donovan, owner of Sullivan's Pub and her dynamic with the other characters especially her mother, Helen Jenkins, who she hasn't seen in over 20 years and doesn't even remember her, and her employee Mick. Anyone who likes a good mystery with twists and turns and charming characters should plan to read Many A Twist by Sheila Connolly. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and liked it so much ...." 

작가의 다른 작품들에 비해서 장편이다. 내용도 그다지 매력적이지는 않다. 하지만 끝까지 읽게 만드는 매력은 있다. 특히 'County Cork Mystery' 시리즈를 처음부터 읽은 독자라면 이 작품이 나름 의미가 있을 것이다. 여주인공의 'biological mother' 의 등장, Mick이라는 인물과의 관계 진전 등... 미스터리 자체보다는 '가족'이야기가 주를 이룬다. 'enexplained murder' 'reunion' 'patience' 'regret' 'new starting' 'family' 등이 중심어이다. 문장이나 표현은 비교적 쉽다.
