코지 미스터리치고는 액션 장면들이 많이 등장한다. 조용한 해변 마을에 있는 도서관이 중심 배경이지만 이야기의 전개는 긴장감이 흐른다. 적당한 애정관계의 묘사도 이 작품의 재미다. 전체적으로는 읽기에 문제는 없지만 좀 까다로운 부분도 있는 거 같다. 도서관이 배경이다 보니 다양한 책들이 작품 속에서 언급되고 의미 있는 문구들이 많이 등장한다. 'treasure hunter' 'treasure island' 'cold case' 'psychopath' 'map' 'greedy' 'arson' 'conflict' 등이 중요한 의미를 가진다.
