코지 미스터리 장르의 작품이다. 특이한 점은 이야기가 'Garage sale'과 '군부대'를 배경으로 하고 있다는 점이다. 하지만 전체적으로는 다른 코지 미스터리 작품들의 특징을 따라가고 있다. 여주인공이 남편의 배신으로 이혼을 하고  무능한 경찰과 갈등을 일으키면서 사건을 해결한다는 것은 다른 작품들과 비슷하다. 거기에 음식점과 개성 있는 친구들의 등장.... 이 작품은 시리즈 초반이어서 인물들이 아직 자리를 잡지 못하거나 다음 작품을 봐야겠지만 새로운 인물들의 관계를 예고하고 있다. 욕망을 채우고자 하는 젊은 남녀의 엽기적인 범행, 갈등구조를 보여주는 인물과의 놀라운 화해, 죽음을 가장한 범죄 등 재밌는 요소도 있지만 전체적으로는 좀 지루한 편이다. 영어 문장이나 표현은 비교적 무난하다.
