Buried Crimes: DCI Sophie Allen by Michael Hambling 본문
"This is the 4th book in the saga of DCI Sophie Allan and is by far the best crafted. Not one spelling or syntax error and no errors in continuity which can so mar a reading experience. The story itself is believable and more in tune with how even modern police work is undermined by lack of records after a period of time, in this book's case 20 + years. It has always been the case that sheer leg work plus some intuition and some experience is used in the investigation of crime. The major advantage of reading any of the four books so far from this author, all of which are perfectly OK as starter volumes, is that the story lines and characters intermingle with the investigative process in an excellent way and there is little clue as to how the story will turn out until it actually does although the subtle clues are there. Each character is well described and the reader feels involved with every one of them in a non judgemental way. All the characters have flaws and problems which are dealt with by each character within the storyline. This authors is a master of this and I cannot imagine how he keeps dipping into these various characters so unerringly and consistently throughout the novel...."
