YA ( Young Adult ) 장르의 장편소설이다. 십 대들을 대상으로 하기 때문에 문장들이나 표현이 난해하지는 않다. 출판 연도가 2014년도이지만 내용이 지난 3년 동안 우리가 겪은 이야기를 보여주는 거 같다. 갑작스러운 부모와 친구들의 죽음, 약탈과 약한 자들을 위협하는 사회적 혼란, 살아남은 자들의 삶에 대한 다양한 생각들을 잘 보여주는 작품이다. 본문에 나오는 "Dad was quarantined. Mom was stuck in a foreign country. My best friend was sick. I was home alone after possibly being exposed to a fatal illness. The panic made it hard to breathe...... " 는 이 작품의 분위기를 잘 보여주고 있다.
