정말 긴 장편의 작품이다. 사건이 계속 일어날 거 같은 분위기나 긴장감 넘치는 배경, 등장인물들의 역학적 구조 등이 돋보이는 작품이다. 다만 작품의 끝까지 'Jack Reacher' 스타일의 액션은 잘 보여주지 않는다는 것이 문제라고 볼 수도 있다. 교도소, 탈출, 버스사고, 마약, 오토바이족, 카르텔, 암살, 증인, 비상동원, 폭설과 추위, 지하 비밀시설, 과거의 이야기와 현재의 이야기, 배신 등이 핵심이 되는 단어들이다. 막판에 등장하는 그의 액션보다는 저자의 결과적인 설명으로 끝나는 것도 독자들의 저항감(?)을 자극하는 거 같다.
